When you considered what Joseph encountered at the hands of his brothers and in Egypt, before being promoted to second in command (Genesis 37, 39-41). When you think of what David endured at the hands of Saul, after being anointed and before taking the throne (1 and 2 Samuel), it's a good indication that God will break us before He promotes us. So don't despair at what you may be experiencing. Remember this: there's a making in the breaking.
