Is there something that you are withholding from God? Abraham did not hold back or hide Isaac from becoming a sacrifice. He responded without hesitation to God's call to sacrifice Isaac, because He believed that God would give back in return (see Genesis 22:1-19 NKJV). It is obvious from the statement he made to the young men who went on the journey with him. He told them, "Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you." That demonstrated his faith in God to keep His promise.
When Isaac asked his father for the whereabouts of the sacrifice, Abraham responded,"...God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering." And God did. He provided the actual burnt offering which had actually gotten caught in the bushes. But even more so than that, God provided a sacrifice for us. He did not hold back, hide or relent from providing for us the best sacrifice ever - His one and only Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins.
May I ask you today; What have you been hiding, withholding, or holding back, that God is calling on you to give up or sacrifice? As Him to show you whatever that may be. And when He does, let it go. He longs to bless you also as you obey His request to give it up.
