We have often been encouraged and advised to count our blessings to see what the Lord has done. I believe it is intended for us to be thankful and recognize the goodness of the Lord, and more importantly to see that we are blessed, even when we don't deserve it. On the other hand, no one ever tells us to count our troubles, or trials to see what the Lord has done. Can we put a price tag on your troubles? Can we sum up all that your troubles, trials and pain and see what they have cost us? Yet our troubles are worth more than we think. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 tells us, "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more and exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal."
Did you catch that? Our trials and troubles are worth more than we think or know. If our focus is only on the temporary, we will miss the value of our trials and troubles. Quit dwelling on the process and focus on the end-product. God has something better planned for us.
Blessings!
