What do you do when you are overwhelmed by tasks, a never-ending list of to-dos, others are demanding your time, your prayer time is being up-ended by several demands, and everything is rush, rush? How do you shift gears and reset?

David tells us how he handled his stressful moments. He leans on the Lord. I like the NKJV renders the verses of Psalm 61. “Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (Psalm 61:1-2). He goes on in the next few verses to refer to the Lord as a shelter and a strong tower.

Feeling overwhelmed today? Hear what Job said; “You have granted me life and favor, And your care has preserved my spirit” (Job 10:12). Preservation of mind and spirit is essential when feeling overwhelmed.

The Lord is a tower of strength. Find shelter in his loving arms. His arms hold the strength to rescue you, hold you up, and support you. He is the Rock that will not move, and no matter what is on your plate, he has all the resources that you will ever need. I’ve tried it, and it works. Run to the Rock.

Blessings!
