We rise each day and enter full swing into the day, go about business as usual and we consider it normal, like that's the way it's supposed to be. But have you ever pause to consider;
What if there was no sunshine - none at all?
What if the wind never blew another day?
What if the clouds refuse to deliver the rain?
What if the earth stood still and gravity alluded us? And that my friends is only a fraction of the "What ifs."
The Bible teaches us that, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth"(Genesis 1:1 NIV). It also tells us, "For in him we live and move and have our being" (Acts 17:28 NIV). And God had further revealed himself in the Son whom he has given to die for our sins and raised again for our life and victory. Colossians 1:16-17 NIV puts it this way: "For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together." Now pause for a moment, close your eyes and imagine if you can, a world without God... It would be uncontrollable chaos, if there was such a thing.
In the final analysis, there is no such thing. We live and we exist because of him, through him, and for him. I'm so glad I have learned to trust him. What if you choose to trust him too? Isn't it time you quit playing God, quit playing monopoly with your life, surrender your life, and fully and wholly follow Christ? What if you invite him into your heart today? What if you took your hands off and allow Jesus full access to the portions you have shut off because the memory is too deep, dark and painful? What if today is the day that you have been waiting for? Tomorrow is not promised, but today can change everything for all eternity.
